hey - so i moved this rotting site over to myspace...i admit i love the way this one looks so i didn't do much to improooove on the old design. but visit me over there if you feel like it.

it's kinda kooky to blog on myspace. i'm so used to blogging for two that it's sort of funny that ANYONE can look more easily now. like that dipshit i can't stand who happens to look at my site or that girl i think i made out with once.

weird.

Notes from the garage

so i've been cleaning up my family's garage.

and by cleaning up - i mean - totally screwing with my MIND!!!!!!

no seriously -

i've found all sorts of crazy shit....

take for instance ye old slut collection.

it's really sad - all my bitches are old and crusty now...i mean, i always knew it would happen...

they look innocent enough just laying there, half nude, still trying to put on a good face...

but upon closer inspection - they are the beautiful - and the damned.

for some reason i find this one the most disturbing. her lace is torn and the young one offers herself up to draw attention away from her big sis's backwards turned head and moldy bruises.

crystal was so happy once. she had an exciting new career in nude modeling!

poor crystal. now she's a lipless crank loving bulldyke with cataracts.

i also found some great hub caps for all you hub cap enthusists -

i know! i can BEAR-ly believe it!

Bear Caps!

i mean BEAR HUB caps!

and of course, as to be expected - no tour of my family's garage would be complete without the occasional mouse...

yup - that's right....

i'm sure i'll end up entombed like this in the garage too one day....check around in the boxes if i go missing....

so my wedded weekend is over.

my chicago wedding went fine. i did the reading. i did the toast. then we drove to wisconsin for my other good friend's reception but i ended up wussing out and not camping like i had planned. but i did get to see their first dance, eat some delicious pork and lemon-pop cake and chatting up some folks.

we got to the second wedding at around 7 p.m. and we hung out for an hour and then i thought maybe i should take a nap in the car so that i could be fresh for the camping experience later, but when wine came to wake me when it was time to go - all i wanted was to go to sleep in my own bed! i couldn't imagine gettting a tent up and it was damn near 40 degrees and i wasn't drinking to be warm and hadn't been home in like 4 days already - so i sheepishly went in and informed the bride that i needed to drive three hours to go home and sleep in my own bed.

ever the gracious, she said she understood and was very sweet about letting me leave her most special of days so abruptly - and she admitted she was a little disappointed that she wouldn't have the opportunity to jam out with wine - who was TOTALLY ready to do just that - but i told her that we'd come back up soon to have a special "just us" visit.

and to her reply of  "when?" i now say oct. 12.

so how 'bout them apples pizza?

anyway - here's a few photos from my travels, you know, for color...

The Mt. P train station. God Bless...

The Blushing Chicago bride before the rehearsal Thursday

The Blushing friend and the Blushing bride after the rehearsal, dinner and drinks at some shi-shi-la-la hotel cigar bar downtown...we forgot our keys and took pix while we were locked out...

They got to sit during their wedding - and on thrones even!

The ring exchange

And then here's the only pic i got of my other friend's wedding - they are not magicians by trade, although this photo might lead you to believe they are enacting the ancient traditional magic of ________!

i wish i could've been more hardcore and camped it out with the rest of them, but i'll make up for it.

oct. 12.

i'm one of the readers in my friend's wedding. so naturally i got to attend the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner last night for the first wedding of tomorrow in chicago.

you know i'm not really the fancy type so the whole evening was waaaaaaaaay more fab than i was prepared for.

as in THIS was where the rehearsal dinner took place.

THANK GOD I OCCASIONALLY BUY FABULOUS CLOTHING!!!!!

i ran around my friend's neighborhood all day today looking for the proper attire for my husband!!!!

i mean, i didn't HAVE to - but i did because i love my friend and she loves the details of events like this and i want to a. not stick out as her poor schlubby friend and b. i want to impress her and her family by showing them i clean up well!

and while it's not quite like this - it's sort of fun to get all gussied up and polished sometimes.

so i'm off to the big city of chicago tomorrow to attend my best friend from college's wedding on saturday. coincidentally i have another to attend that same day. i will not be able to attend the ceremony of the latter, but wine and i will be arrive in time for part of the reception and will then set up a tent foreign to us in the dark in which to spend the night in.

in the bride and groom's backyard.

in the meantime, i thought i'd share some photos i was lucky enough to take the past couple of weeks.

this is the stuff i try to explain to people when i tell them why i still live in iowa.

Corn is plentiful in the summer and i love love love to eat as much of the stuff as my rear sphincter can handle.

Sunset + pretty cosmos blossoms = magic

my yucca tree against the iowa sun setting invigorates my world view

oh! oh! oh! this is an honest to god little bright green and silver frog that jumped on my railing and hung out and watched the pretty colors with me.

i know - dork that i am - i couldn't just enjoy the company i insisted on documenting it. doesn't he look like he's like a cowboy frog or something?

and leroy's truck. every time i'm outside everybody's we always park in the same spot. right behind leroy's garage. this way i can occasionally see what leroy's hauling around that day or week.

looked like he wasn't recycling his leaves i'll say that...

anyway - you all have a decent week. i'm gonna dress up sort of fancy and pretend my obnoxiously friendly behavior when meeting a ton of people i don't know is a positive side effect of my social anxiety.
